Commercial Food Photography London
What is commercial food photography?
Commercial food photography is not just about taking nice photos of drinks and food, it is a visual strategy to convey trust, communicate quality and it speaks directly to your audience. It spans from images of cold refreshing drinks, to warm comforting food, healthy food and so on, it is designed to make people crave what they see
Commercial photography is created to promote and sell a product, on ads, e-commerce, cookbooks and more. Differently from editorial food photography the aim is not to tell a story here, but rather to specifically advertise a food or drink product.
Why does commercial photography matters for your brand?
Professional photography is absolutely essential for a brand to show trustworthiness, it absolutely gives you the edge in a competitive market. Especially online, people browsing for something will just dedicate seconds to a page before the skip to the next one, so you have a couple of seconds to convince them your food and drinks are delicious, soothing and refreshing.
Booking your commercial food and drinks photoshoot
London is home to several top-tier commercial photographers who work with global brands, so finding the right one for you can be challenging. Things to look for are consistency, the ability to showcase food with the right lighting skills. But you might also try to contact the photographer before hand to get a feel if that’s the right person you want to work with.
Each brand has its own unique identity, my mission is to convey it through food images. I achieve this with the use of professional studio lighting to create elaborate scenes with the use of props with textures and colours, that match your brand identity. I am available for packshot and e-commerce photoshoots both on location or from my studio in North London.
My commercial photography photoshoot process
A commercial photography photoshoot starts from a brief from yourself. A mood board and a shot list follows. This is essential to make the most of the photoshoot day and avoid wasting time on the day.
On the day I use natural lighting and/or studio lighting to create professional images, I work with professional food stylists to make your product shine and I shoot tethered, so we can see the images straight from my laptop.
After the photoshoot, there is a post-production session in studio.
Turnaround times are typically within a week.
Previous commercial food photography clients
I’ve worked with chain restaurants and pubs, including Fullers Pubs, T.G.I Fridays, Three Uncles as well as independent ecommerce brands Alphonso Mango and Maison Organic.
